Vinyl Source - Cartridge Arc Protractor

One of these is absolutely essential for any turntable owner. The best protractor I have found (and I have used a lot) bar none.

Extremely pleased I found The Vinyl Source, a prompt, considered, professional independent outfit that I would thoroughly recommend. Quality is always in the detail and these guys get it!

      Wanderful and expensive

I don't know a precise and well-made protractor like this. It's for sure the best on the market.

Too bad the price is really high, even more so if bought from outside the UK...

Hi Lodovico, and thanks for your review.

      However, I have some thoughts.

Our protractor is made in England from coated and laser-etched Perspex and is priced at the moment of writing at 27£. Our direct competitor from Ukraine makes them from printed paper at a higher price. I think we have an excellent value for money here.

Of course, buying from overseas adds the postage that Royal Mail and then Poste Italiane charge, but it delivers the item to your mailbox without the need to fly to the UK. And now comes the elephant in the room. The Italian government cashes in almost 40% in VAT, import duties and handling fees to fill their coffers. Here in the UK, personal imports of items with a value below 135£ is completely free. Ask the EU to apply the same rule. When we left the EU in 2016, I was gutted, but after 10 years and seen the trajectory of the union I think that maybe we did the right thing.

      Cartridge alignment device, Origin Live.

Excellent, simple to use and a great result, as far as my ears can hear. Shipping was also unexpectedly swift.
