The Vinyl Source modified motor power supply for Thorens TD160 Super / TD160B / TD160 MkII / TD166 MkII and possibly others.
This compact AC motor power supply is a replacement for the vetust power supply of vintage Thorens turntables.
Equipped with high-quality modern X2 class film capacitors will assure a better performance than the decaying capacitors in your deck. In addition a fuse (replaceable) is included on the board to make your deck compliant with today safety regulations.
This version uses different valued for the drop resistor and the phase capacitor, the original Thorens service manual states that the drop resistor should be 5K6 Ohms and the phase capacitor 0.33 uF; nevertheless, a large number of Thorens decks with the same motor had different values for the drop resistor and phase capacitor respectively of 10K Ohms and 0.15 uF. Reason of this factory modification could be that powering the motor with a lower voltage (larger drop resistor) it should run smoother.

This version is for 230/240 V AC mains only, no 110/120V version is available.
A set of four 2mm nylon spacers and screws for wood is included.
A mounting instruction sheet comes with all motors; however, since we are dealing with potentially deadly mains voltages, we recommend to have this kit professionally installed.

Very neat and uprated specification replacement for the original Thorens terminal strip.
This is a much better solution to just replacing the 40 year old resistors and capacitors, and includes a safety fuse.
