SME 3009/3012 armboard for Thorens TD145 / TD146 / TD147 / TD160 TD165 and TD166 Turntables
 
These boards are made of high-quality perspex, laser cut and hand finished.
 This board is the perfect match between your Thorens turntable and your SME 3009/3012 tonearm.
This version is the “inclined” with the slot running toward the platter; we have another version available with the slot in parallel with the shorter side of your Thorens in another listing.
 
Why perspex?
1) On the market you’ll find different arm boards made from different materials, we choose perspex for various reasons:
Resonance, aluminium boards are very nice and sturdy but have a high resonance frequency, besides they tend to transmit high-frequency vibration to the arm. Perspex is still very rigid but damps unwanted vibrations much better than aluminium, wood is also excellent but the boards tend to be or to thick or too frail, besides wood cannot guarantee uniformity of performance.
2) Aesthetics, the high gloss finish will give your turntable an even more classy look.
3) Can be “fine-tuned” by the end user. We deal with vintage turntables if a small mod is needed to the board due to some differences peculiar to your device,  most of them can be carried out by the end-user.
 
The board is supplied with all the screws and bolts needed to mount it on your Thorens; a simple instruction sheet is included with every board.
 
Be aware that you might need to carve some extra space to fit your arm. This can be done with a Dremel, first mark the area you need to cut putting your board on the turntable without the mounting pillars, be sure that the mounting holes are all in line, then remove the arm board and shave the metal.
 
All our boards carry a two years warranty against any material of manufacture defect, of course, you can return you board within 14 days if you change your mind or you discover that the board does not fit your need or meet your expectations.
